Venor is proud to partner with our client, Coady Construction & Excavating Limited., in their search for a Senior Project Manager. Established in 1980, Coady Construction & Excavating Ltd. is a leading heavy civil infrastructure construction company in Newfoundland and Labrador, specializing in marine infrastructure applications. The company’s dedication to quality and safety has made it a trusted partner for completing heavy civil infrastructure projects safely, on time, and on budget, contributing to the province’s infrastructure development.
Reporting to the President, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for overall supervision of the project’s progress from conception to completion to ensure that it is completed on time and within budget. Specific responsibilities include estimating project costs, contract administration and preparation of competitive bids, planning and scheduling detailed project timelines, coordinating work assignments and attending on-site meetings with sub-agencies and/or subcontractors, managing change orders, as well as developing traffic and safety plans, as-built drawings, and construction schedules.
As the ideal candidate, you have a bachelor’s engineering degree focused in Civil engineering, or C.E.T, as well as 10 to 15 years of project management and estimating experience in a construction environment, or an equivalent mix of education and experience. You will demonstrate your exceptional problem-solving, project management, communication, negotiation and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and allocate materials and labor effectively. Project management experience in general, heavy civil, marine, bridge, or municipal construction as well as exposure to MS Office Excel, AutoCAD, GPS surveying and B2W estimating software is considered an asset.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of construction and technical engineering documentation, the tendering, bidding and quoting process, contract law, and regulatory and safety compliance requirements. You also demonstrate a proven ability to identify, assess, and manage project risks effectively while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
