Venor is proud to partner with North Star Structural Systems in their search for a Senior Structural Designer to join their team in Cocagne, NB.
North Star Structural Systems is a new manufacturing venture delivering roof trusses, wall panels, and floor systems to residential and commercial builders across Atlantic Canada. Built on decades of experience in the building materials and construction supply industry, the company is focused on quality, speed, and customer-driven solutions that help projects move from concept to completion with confidence.
The Senior Structural Designer will play a key role in transforming architectural and engineering plans into efficient, code-compliant structural systems that support builders and contractors across the region. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a modern, forward-thinking manufacturing operation where technical expertise, collaboration, and continuous improvement are valued.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing roof trusses, wall panels, and floor systems for residential and commercial projects
- Preparing engineered drawings and complete job packages for production and construction teams
- Interpreting architectural and structural drawings to ensure accuracy and code compliance
- Supporting quoting, material take-offs, and design revisions
- Providing technical support to customers, sales, and internal teams
- Contributing to design standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
What we are looking for
- CET, Engineering degree, or relevant technical training considered an asset
- 2+ years of experience in structural, truss, or building component design preferred
- Experience with MiTek, Alpine, Simpson-Strong-Tie or similar design software considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
