Position Overview

Guildfords is seeking an experienced and dedicated Superintendent to lead the Fire Protection and Coatings division. The ideal candidate will bring a robust background in on-site construction management, a deep commitment to safety, and exceptional leadership skills, with a proven ability to oversee projects directly in the field, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role requires a hands-on leader who excels at managing teams on-site, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining the highest quality standards throughout all phases of construction

Key Responsibilities

Workforce Oversight:

  • Ensure crews are prepared for daily tasks, including the availability of materials, equipment readiness, and proper deployment.
  • Oversee the delivery and receiving of materials to and from the Guildford’s Yard, coordinating closely with other Superintendents.
  • Manage and coordinate installers, laborers, and other personnel to maintain efficient workflow and adherence to project schedules.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly inspected, repaired, maintained, and stored as needed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, the project management team, and field staff.
  • Obtain and document all necessary permits and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, change orders, and progress reports.

Safety Management:

  • Lead by example within the Guildford’s safety program.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all site personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly address any safety issues.

Quality Control:

  • Monitor and inspect work quality to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Address and resolve any quality issues or defects in a timely manner.
  • Document all quality-related inspections and reviews thoroughly.

Requirements

We are seeking a dynamic leader with 5 to 10 years of proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or a similar leadership on-site role. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully overseeing a diverse range of skilled trades, ensuring project excellence from start to finish. Experience working within a robust safety program is a must, while familiarity with spray-applied fireproofing, fire stopping, intumescent paint, and industrial coatings is highly advantageous. Strong leadership and management capabilities are essential, with the ability to inspire and direct teams toward achieving high-quality outcomes. Superior organizational and time-management skills, coupled with a deep understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and quality standards, are crucial. Proficiency in construction management tools such as MS Projects or P6, along with the Microsoft Office Suite, is required. Certifications such as GSC, OSHA, LEED, CM-LEAN, or PMP will further strengthen your candidacy
