Venor is proud to partner with Metro Community Living (MCL) in their search for a Talent Acquisition Specialist. Since 1988, MCL has provided housing, support, and services to people with disabilities so they can build meaningful lives in their communities. As they continue to grow their impact across Nova Scotia, the HRS will play a key role in designing and delivering a standardized, efficient, and scalable recruitment function across the organization.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding across all MCL locations.
- Design and implement recruitment strategies tailored to specific roles, communities, and regions, ensuring consistent and inclusive hiring practices.
- Develop compelling job postings and advertising campaigns across digital and community platforms to attract a diverse range of candidates.
- Analyze recruitment metrics, generate regular reporting, and continuously improve recruitment processes.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with internal department heads, external stakeholders, and community organizations to strengthen talent pipelines.
- Support cross-functional needs by providing occasional backup for scheduling coordination.
What we are looking for:
- A highly organized and process-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with modern recruitment tools, technology, and applicant tracking systems.
- Solid understanding of labour laws, equitable hiring practices, and talent acquisition best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while delivering results.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field is an asset, along with relevant HR certifications.
- Must successfully complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to travel within Nova Scotia 1-2 days per month as required, a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license are required (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Comfortable working in a fully in-office environment with a collaborative team.
