Trading Assistant

Dartmouth, NS

Our client, an established and growing distributor of meat and protein products is looking for a
Trading Assistant to join their team in Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to the Controller, the Trading
Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of business processes, thereby
making a substantial impact on their overall success and customer satisfaction.

This role requires a versatile individual who is capable of handling various tasks related to order
processing, invoicing, shipping logistics, and account management. Your responsibilities will
include, but are not limited to, receiving incoming products, creating and processing purchase
orders and sales orders through an ERP system, managing customer orders and addressing
inquiries, coordinating logistics and arranging timely transportation for order deliveries,
mitigating and resolving any order-related issues or discrepancies, handling accounts payable
tasks, including vouchering and assisting with timely processing of payments.

As the ideal candidate, you are a quick learner and keen multitasker, capable of rapidly
absorbing new information and taking the initiative to adapt and respond to changing priorities.
Attention to detail is paramount, with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced
environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial, enabling effective
interaction with colleagues, customers and vendors in a professional manner. You have a
proven ability to work independently as well collaborating effectively within a group setting. A
moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel is essential. Prior
experience with a warehouse management system (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning
(ERP) system, as well as proven experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
