Atlantic Canada

Venor is proud to partner with our client, the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies (ACEC). ACEC is a not-for-profit organization that has been the voice of Canadian consulting engineering companies since it was founded in 1925. ACEC is the federation of 12 provincial and territorial associations representing 400 companies providing engineering and professional services across Canada and internationally. Its member firms play a pivotal role in planning, designing, and constructing a more prosperous and sustainable Canada.

ACEC represents the commercial interests of businesses that provide professional engineering services, to both the public and the private sector. Their members’ services include planning, designing, and implementing all types of engineering projects, and providing independent advice and expertise in various engineering-related fields.

ACEC is in search of an accomplished association management professional to serve as the Executive Director for three of its constituent associations in Atlantic Canada – New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Each association operates independently, with its own board of directors.

Reporting to each Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and implementing key functions for each of the three associations such as advocacy, member engagement, committee meetings, bookkeeping, communications, website maintenance, social media analytics, board meeting preparation, and event planning. You will also be acting as the liaison with the national association office in Ottawa with which you will occasionally collaborate.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, along with proven experience in association management and/or familiarity with the engineering sector, or related industry. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential, along with knowledge of advocacy strategies, financial management, and website/social media management. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and uphold ACEC’s reputation in the sector.

No matter who you are, where you are from, how you think, what you believe in, or who you love, your application is welcome. Diversity is appreciated and there is understanding that we all come from different backgrounds and different walks of life, bringing in unique perspectives and experiences. Applications from 2SLGBTQ+, Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC), women, newcomers to Canada, and people with disabilities are encouraged. Please let us know if you require any accommodation in the application and interview process

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter who loves flexibility and autonomy. Interested candidates can submit their cover letter and resume to Shardeigh McGillivray  via shardeigh@venor.ca & Nada Halaweh via nada@venor.ca
