Venor Strengthens Sales & Marketing Recruitment Practice with Luke Watters

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA (January 22, 2024) – Venor, a prominent talent acquisition and human resource solutions provider, proudly announces the appointment of Luke Watters as part of the Sales & Marketing practice at its Halifax office. This strategic move is keeping with Venor’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional talent acquisition services and solidifying its presence in the sales & marketing landscape.

With over a decade of experience, Luke Watters is a seasoned recruitment professional with a passion for cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and internal teams, driving significant company growth. His proven track record in leading successful initiatives positions him as a key asset to Venor’s Sales & Marketing practice.

A Halifax native, Luke spent the past eight years in London, England  — he brings significant outbound sales and sales management experience, notably serving as Business Manager in Essex, London, and Crawley, UK. His accomplishments include successfully rebuilding the London and Essex team, overseeing the team’s expansion from 5 to 15 direct reports and achieving a remarkable +63% growth in gross profit within the first year of his management role.

“The decision to move home to Halifax was easy, but choosing the right recruitment firm took much more diligence,” says Watters. “I already had some options presented to me when someone I know recommended Venor. I was impressed with their values and how they put their client’s best interests over closing a deal. I have worked in some bigger commercial markets where that type of philosophy wasn’t commonplace, and the Venor values seem to fit well with the culture here in Atlantic Canada. I’m thrilled to lead the Sales & Marketing recruitment area in such a dynamic, relationship-centric market.”

Luke spearheaded the expansion of the region’s team and maximized gross profit to support Randstad in reaching their EBITA target for Q4 2022. He also played a crucial role in leading UK-wide Salesforce training to enhance the team’s capabilities.

“We are thrilled to have Luke Watters join us as Senior Recruitment Consultant in our Sales & Marketing practice. His extensive expertise in the sales & marketing domain adds an invaluable dimension to our team. His strategic insights and proven track record mean that clients can anticipate heightened proficiency and tailored solutions, ” says Beverley Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Venor.

“With Luke joining the team, Venor is positioned to be that much more effective in helping clients identify and attract elite sales & marketing professionals in the ever-evolving talent landscape,” says Craig Coady, co-founder of Venor. “Luke has that balance of professionalism and tenacity that we look for in a client-facing recruitment consultant, really focused on finding out what an organization needs to have someone be impactful and successful in their environment, and then find and inspire those individuals, as opposed to just the best applicants.”
